RURAL FIRE SERVICE OPEN DAY 2023
Googong’s Rural Fire Service’s Open Day is a fascinating adventure for the young and the young-at-heart. Our local crew from the Jerrabomberra Creek Rural Fire Brigade will be on hand at Googong on Saturday 7 October 2023 with lots of free family fun.
Climb the big red fire trucks or have a go with the hoses under the watchful eye of our local brigade. Try the firies’ emergency gear on for size and share some of the amazing stories from our local heroes. So, if you’ve always dreamed of being a firefighter don’t miss your chance to have a go.
We will have stall holders from Aquatots Swim School, Googong Hogs Sports Clubs (AFL, netball, basketball, and cricket), Monaro Panthers Soccer, EPA Dance School, the Queanbeyan Multicultural Centre, Googong Residents’ Association, and ICON Water (who manage the nearby Googong Dam). Enjoy live music, lunch from The Meat Wizard or Googong Hogs sausage sizzle, sweet cookies from Cinnaglaze, and more.
Bring a picnic and enjoy the live music and fun atmosphere.
We will be hosting it in Bunyip Park, with its wonderful Bunyip themed playground. Our new (award-winning!) Sales Centre will be open in the park too, so pop in and say hi!
It’s a great day out and everyone is invited to enjoy truck loads of free family fun.
