Googong’s Rural Fire Service’s Open Day is a fascinating adventure for the young and the young-at-heart. Our local crew from the Jerrabomberra Creek Rural Fire Brigade will be on hand at Googong on Saturday 8 October 2022 with lots of free family fun.
Climb the big red fire trucks or have a go with the hoses under the watchful eye of our local brigade. Try the firies’ emergency gear on for size and share some of the amazing stories from our local heroes. So if you’ve always dreamed of being a firefighter don’t miss your chance to have a go.
We will have stall holders from our two local schools, The Googong Anglican School (EL-Year 12), and the Googong Primary School, plus Wombat Rescue, Molonglo Catchment Group who partner with us in the delivery of Googong’s extensive conservation areas, and ICON Water (who manage the nearby Googong Dam). Enjoy live music, a Rotary Club sausage sizzle, sweat treats from Gelato to Cinnaglaze cookies, and more.
This year we will be hosting it in our brand new park, Bunyip Park, with it’s wonderful new Bunyip themed playground. Our new Sales Centre will be open for the first time that weekend too, so pop in and say hi!
It’s a great day out and everyone is invited to enjoy the live music, Rotary sausage sizzle and truck loads of free family fun.
