Peet RAP Artwork by Chloe Watego

Celebrating Reconciliation Week 2023

Googong would like to acknowledge the Ngunnawal, Nambri and Ngunawal peoples, Traditional Custodians of the land on which our community gathers and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia, especially during this week – Reconciliation Week 2023.

Always was, always will be.

Googong is a Joint Venture partnership between two of Australia’s leading property developers, Peet and Mirvac.

This week we are pleased to recognise National Reconciliation Week 2023 with the launch of the artwork that will support Peet’s

Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The artwork is designed by Chloe Watego, a Gubbi Gubbi-based woman with a strong connection to one of Peet’s Queensland projects, Flagstone. Chloe grew up in the Flagstone community with her family and built her first home there with her partner and children. Chloe is a self-taught, emerging artist with a passion for sharing and celebrating her culture through art.

The artwork shares the story of Peet’s purpose Defining future places of belonging, and the journey each person makes towards reconciliation through listening and engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

This beautiful piece, unveiled today, is proudly displayed in each Peet office around the country.

Peet’s Reflect RAP is in the final stages of review with Reconciliation Australia, and we look forward to sharing a further update with you in the coming months.
