BIG CROWD FOR GOOGONG LAUNCH

Home BIG CROWD FOR GOOGONG LAUNCH

On Monday 13 February, more than 900 people packed the Royal Theatre at Canberra’s National Convention Centre to hear CIC Australia’s Chief Operating Officer, Tony Carey, reveal the vision for the new Googong township.

Tony introduced a 3D fly-through that showed how the first streetscapes at Googong will look and took a peek inside Club Googong, with its store, café, gym and pool. The audience heard about the Googong masterplan, the five neighbourhoods in the new township and the many facilities that Googong will offer its residents.

Following his presentation, Tony was joined on the podium by Googong Project Director, Mark Attiwill, and the pair conducted a lively question and answer session. One member of the audience asked about rates, and was assured that they would be assessed on the same basis as other parts of Queanbeyan. Other queries about road access, public transport, water recycling and many other topics were all answered to the satisfaction of the questioners.

“We were thrilled to see how many people wanted to know about Googong,” Tony Carey said. “It’s an exciting time for us to see our vision coming to life after ten years of planning.”

The evening concluded with tea and coffee, as the Googong team answered yet more questions in an informal atmosphere. Those who attended the seminar left with an information pack, including details of the sales process for Googong’s first release. Additional packs are available and can be obtained by emailing us at enquiries@googong.net. The pack contains a registration form which must be returned by Friday 24 February to register for the first release. This form is also available on this website.

Registration forms are already coming back and the Googong team is confident that the first release of land in the new township will be very much in demand.
